But for the crafty out there, or anyone who wants to save some money, this doesn’t have to be a problem. In fact, not unlike standard human hair, you can just dye them to your preferred shade.

Do you dye your hair before or after extensions?

This may seem obvious, but in order to get the truest match, we recommend coloring your hair and waiting three to five washes before choosing your extensions – this way, your color will have regulated. The first day you color your hair, it’s often a touch darker or more saturated than how your hair will typically look.

Do you wash extensions before coloring?

You don’t have to wash before coloring, but it’s a great measure to take to ensure that your extensions are clean and ready for coloring. Be sure to comb out any tangle in the extensions as well. If you do wash your extensions, don’t color them while they are wet or damp. They must be completely dry.
